Vienmēr, kad cilvēki jautā tik ļoti grūto jautājumu - kura ir tava mīļākā filma - vienīgā jēdzīgā un godīgā (attiecībā pret citām filmām) atbilde šķiet ir "Lord of the Rings" triloģija (Peter Jackson, 2001 -2003) - vienkārši tāpēc, ka tas bija varenākais projekts ever, un, kad likās, ka neko tādu kino pasaulei vairs nepiedzīvot - vēsture atkārtojās, tā teikt! Pēc vairāku gadu diskusijām par galvenās lomas atveidotāju (tomēr žēl, ka Ian Holmes bija iespēja redzēt tikai kā novecojušu Bilbo, redzēs, ko mums sniegs britu komiķis Martin Freeman), kā arī par režisora krēslu (sākot ar Guillermo del Toro kā režisoru un Peter Jackson kā producentu līdz Peter Jackson kā režisoru un Guillermo del Toro kā scenāristu) beidzot tika paziņots, ka pirmā no 2 (!) J. R. R. Tolkīna the Hobbit kino versijām gaidāma jau 2012. gada beigās.

Whenever people ask me this extremely difficult question - which is your favourite film? - the most coherent and honest (respecting other films) answer in this matter would be "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy (Peter Jackson, 2001 - 2003) - and it's simply because it was and still is the most awesome project ever. And just when you thought that the world of cinema would never again experience a project like that - the history repeated itself! After numerous years of discussions over the actor who would play the main role (it's a pity that we were able to see Ian Holmes only as a elderly Bilbo, but he haven't yet seen what Martin Freeman has in store for us), as well as discussions over who would take the directors seat (from Guillermo del Toro as the director and Peter Jackson as producer to Peter Jackson as director and Guillermo del Toro as screenwriter) it was announced at last that the first of 2 (!) J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit films versions would reach the silver screens at the end of 2012.

My own experience with these materials is that it just felt like the 4th film or even better - like I was taking part in the filming process myself - that's how great the extra material was.
